What are Some Common Causes of infertility in Men and Women?

Infertility simply implies the incapacity to conceive a child naturally. And both men are women are at equal risks of infertility. Such cases have shown a sharp rise in the last few decades. Many studies have also affirmed this viewpoint.
But, what actually make an individual infertile? Let’s look at some common causes making men and women infertile:

Causes of Infertility in Men:   
·        1)  Sperm abnormalities form a huge factor leading to male infertility. These abnormalities comprises of poor sperm movement, low sperm count, etc.
·         2) STDs can also affect reproductive health in men.
·         3) Chemotherapy/radiation treatments can also cause infertility.
·         4) If the environment is contaminated with toxins like lead and pesticides, both men and women can become infertile.
·         5) Alcohol, drugs and smoking are also some overlooked culprits.
·         6) Any injury to the scrotum and testes.


·       1) Ovulatory disorders are responsible for infertility in women. It is estimated that they account for 25 percent of infertility cases in women.
·       2)  If the fallopian tubes are blocked or scarred, infertility may occur.
·       3) Ageing is another reason behind rising infertility cases.
·       4) Medical conditions like Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, endometriosis and fibroids.

·        5) Obesity is one overlooked reason
